The School of Spatial Planning develops a RAPID Environmental Action Plan

‘Students and graduates of the BSc in Spatial Planning at the DIT School of Spatial Planning presented a draft version of an Environmental Action Plan for the North West Inner City RAPID area on May 1st 2009 at the Grangegorman Development Agency (GDA). The draft plan, entitled "Breaking Barriers, Creating Connection" was presented to the GDA, members of Dublin City Council, an Garda Siochana as well as representatives of Community Organisations, including MACRO and the North West Inner City Network.’ Dave O’Connor
The project was sponsored by Dublin City Council. The final version of the plan will be available soon and will be posted on DIT's Built Environment Blog.
What do the students get from it?
Students spent ten days in the area, where they met with community leaders, and generated findings in a community-based planning project.
What do the community get from it?
Communities benefit from empirical research on a physical environmental action plan for North West Inner City Dublin.
