DIT Access Programme Welcomes a Record Number of New Students!

Wednesday 28 September 2011 Category: DIT Access Service

The DIT Access Service Orientation Programme, which took place from Monday 5 September  -- Friday 9 September in DIT Bolton Street, was a great success!  The Access Service, which aims to address educational disadvantage in Ireland, welcomed over 250 new first year students on courses in all four Colleges in DIT.  The Access Service staff, ably assisted by a team of DIT student leaders studying many different courses in DIT, delivered five days of activities and information including icebreakers in Grangegorman, a treasure hunt around Dublin City, and a reception for family and friends.  The students worked in groups all week to produce presentations which they delivered on the Friday.  The winning team won free entry to all Fresher's Week activities, thanks to the generosity of DITSU!  Overall, the Orientation Programme served as a fantastic introduction to DIT for new Access students.  The Access Service wishes to thank the many individuals and offices within DIT which helped make this week possible.  Congratulations to all new students!
