Christmas Concerts and Events

Young musicians from The Ballymun Music Programme will feature in a number of Christmas concerts and events during November and December.

25 November  Students from the Trinity Comprehensive School will be joined by the RTE Vanbrugh Quartet who will give an introduction to who they are and the instruments of the Quartet, and enthuse about the magic of music and how it can tell a story. There will also be an opportunity for students to perform with the Quartet.

2 December  The Trinity Comprehensive School will host a Christmas concert which will feature the new string students conducted by Jillian Saunders, the Senior Wind Band conducted by musician Ciaran Wilde and the Trinity Comprehensive Choir conducted by music teacher Kevin Kelly.

10 December   Horn players from the Ballymun Music Programme collaborated with Blues musicians from the Ballymun Regional Youth Resource (BRYR) on a music project over the last couple of weeks and will perform at a concert highlighting BRYR's Music Club and music collaborations. The project was filmed by Bradog Youth Service for a TV series, due to be broadcast on DCTV early next year.

12 December  Students from the Junior and Senior Bands conducted by Ciaran Wilde will perform at a Christmas concert in the music room which will be attended by parents.

14 December  Junior Recorder students, conducted by music teacher Emer Black will feature at the St. Joseph's Junior National School Christmas concert.

15 December   St. Joseph's Senior National School will host a Christmas concert featuring the Senior Concert Band conducted by Ciaran Wilde and the String Orchestra conducted by Emma McNaugthon and Sarah McCabe.

16 December  String students from the Holy Spirit Girls School and St. Joesph's School Choir will perform at the film screening of Ballymun Lullaby in the Irish Film Institute. The String students will be conducted by Maire Ní Chroinin and the Choir will be conducted by Maura Doyle.

The Gaelscoil Brass Band conducted by Alice Nolan and Our Lady of Victories School Brass Band conducted by Andrea Vonk will both feature at Christmas concerts in December.
