Volunteering
The Peer Mentoring Programme
Peer Mentoring involves assigning a first year student with a “buddy” peer mentor, who is a DIT Access student in second, third or fourth year. The peer mentors have been through the first year experience and are in a good position to help first years with information or any questions you have about college life. First years will meet at least four times a year with their peer mentor. The meetings are in the form of a group meeting, a group of 1st years with two mentors.
First year students will be given the opportunity to become peer mentors themselves. Training is held each year for new peer mentors.
Students can also volunteer with the Supervised Study Programme and the DIT Shadowing Day which are run in conjunction with the DIT Chaplaincy Service
