Hello Students!  Welcome to your page on the Access Service’s website.

All of us here in the Access Service are here to help you thrive at college.  If you ever run into trouble in college, and don’t know where to turn, please don’t hesitate to contact us.  If we can’t help you, we will do our best to refer you to someone who can!

Student Reminders:

1.      Student Assistance Fund

A completed SAF form must have 3 parts:

·        The form to be filled in

·        The bank mandate signed and stamped

·        Supporting financial documentation, which is either the grant letter or the parent’s 2010 financial documentation. ( P60’s, P21, letters from social welfare)

2.      Cheque Collection times for 2^nd – 5^th years

There will be two sessions for 2^nd- 5^th years who still have to collect their cheques. Students can decide which session they wish to attend:

·        Tuesday 18 October Cathal Brugha Street, Kathleen O Sullivan Theatre 1pm-2pm

OR

·        Thursday 20 October Kevin Street Room B034 1pm-2pm

3.      Cheque Collection times for 1^st years

Gráinne and John are now organising meetings for 1st year students to collect their cheques beginning next week (the week of October 17th).  We will be meeting with students by course code.  We are consulting first year schedules and information from Access Peer Mentors to find times suitable to meet groups of first years on each course.  The dates and times of these meetings will be posted on the access service website under “information for 1^st years”.

Students are expected to check the website to find out when and where their meetings are.  Peer Mentors might text them to remind them closer to the time, if possible.

4.      Grinds

The deadline for submission of Grinds Request Forms is FRIDAY October 28.  Texts requesting grinds are not acceptable - the form available online on our "Forms" page must be submitted to John Delap

5.      Weekly Slots:

John - Mountjoy Square College on WEDNESDAYS from 12pm -3pm in Room G13 

Bolton Street College on FRIDAYS from 12pm-3pm in Room 136.1

Gráinne in Aungier Street College TUESDAYS from 11am-2pm in Room 3070

Aungier Street College on THURSDAYS from 12pm-3pm in Room 4100

John and Gráinne are available by appointment during these times.  These slots are generally for 1^st years, but 2-5^th years can make appointments in extenuating circumstances (however, this is as a last resort, AFTER checking the website).
