Two New Studies Published by HEA
Thursday 04 February 2010The Higher Education Authority has published two new studies looking at the area of access to higher education in Ireland.
The first, entitled "Hidden Disadvantage: A study on the Low Participation in Higher Education by the Non-Manual Group," documents a distinct pattern of low rates of matriculation among those identified as non-manual workers. It provides a clear overview of the impact this trend has on socio-economic disparities in Ireland.
The second report, "Study on the Costs of Participation in Higher Education," discusses the costs associated with attending a higher education course. This research, conducted by the Economic Social and Research Institute, highlights the variables that impact a student's financial burden, should they choose to enroll in higher education.
Both publications are available to download at www.hea.ie.
