The Work of Community Links in Belarus

The Community Links Programme has established Digital Community Centres in Vasilevka to support the development of young adults. With state of the art computers donated by DIT the young adults are learning computer skills and learning English.

So far the project at Vasilevka has:

  • Development of computer training/education 
  • A Training for Trainers programme 
  • The development of Dominic Hope House

Each month, a Newsletter is produced by the young adults in Vasilevka, featuring stories about their lives, their hopes and their concerns. This newsletter is produced in Russian and English. Lelia, who is a wheelchair user, is editor of the Newsletter and is learning all the skills of producing the newsletter word, photoshop and is also learning English on her PC.
