DIT in the Chernobyl affected regions of southern Belarus
Dublin Institute of Technology in Belarus
The DIT has been involved in the Chernobyl affected areas of southern Belarus in a number of ways.
The Community Links Programme has developed Digital Community Centres in the region as well as supporting the development of Dominic Hope House.
StudentAID raises money to support the development and running costs of a hospice for young adults as well as an education project in Vasilevka in the Homyel region of Belarus.
Both programmes work in a co-ordinated way with over 300 mentally and physically challenged young adults and old people affected by the Chernobyl nuclear disaster of 1986.
